Tabatinga Coffe

Farm

This is the timeline of Fazenda Tabatinga. From the beginning, we have worked with a commitment to offering high quality products with excellence and sustainability. See our entire story below.

1929

Almost a hundred years ago, we began our story with coffee. That was when Getúlio Vargas paid for coffee growers to eradicate their crops. The family patriarch, seeing an opportunity there, began planting. And so we continue to this day.

2000

We signed our first land lease contract for coffee planting. From then on, 5 more areas were leased for coffee, cattle and corn.

2001

Tabatinga Farm appears. That was when the current administration received the land and started planting larger quantities, using more modern technologies. We started making our own seedlings, which generated a huge gain in quality.

2003

Confirming our initial vocation as a family business, this year we leased the Santa Helena and Jacarezinho Farms, which would later (2014) be inherited. We started investing in beef cattle farming.

2005

Always focused on the quality of our products, we began to invest in cutting-edge genetics, and began producing pure Nelore animals, 100% generated through artificial insemination, and certified by ABCZ (Brazilian Association of Zebu Breeders). We launched the Nelore Tabatinga brand, which with a lot of effort and dedication has become a reference for quality in the region.

2007

At Fazenda Jacarezinho, aiming at the special meat market, we began the production of half Angus animals, also generated through artificial insemination.

2013

We achieved our first certification (UTZ Certified), which was a milestone in our administration, especially in labor, safety and environmental relations. Today we are certified 4C (Grupo Tristão), LDC (Louis Dreyfus Company), and C.A.F.E. Practices (Atlantic).

2017

We began a new cycle of planting and area renovation, at this stage we began using more modern varieties and spacing, enabling the optimization of our areas, and as a result we saw our productivity increase exponentially.

2018

Once again with a view to sustainability, we implemented a photovoltaic energy generation plant at our headquarters, at Fazenda Tabatinga, which supplies all of our production structures.

2019

Our greatest achievement. Fulfilling an old dream, we started operations at Tabatinga Coffee.

2020

Reinforcing our commitment to quality, we planted Bourbon coffee for the first time, aiming to produce specialty coffees.

2022

Supporting the growth of our business, we began the computerization of agricultural and administrative processes, bringing agility and security to decision-making.

We started producing compost, in a project whose objective is to use the byproducts generated by coffee production to fertilize and improve the soil of crops. We have seen the evolution of certifications.

UTZ became Rainforest Alliance, and while almost all farms that had UTZ gave up seeking the new certification, we, in the first audit, obtained the certificate. Certainly, the most important certification in coffee farming today.

2024

Today, on 3 owned and 5 leased farms, we produce Arabica coffee, pulped and natural, in quantities never imagined in the year 2000. We also have cutting-edge Nelore genetics (bulls and matrices), half Angus calves, corn, and eucalyptus.

We have an average of 50 employees, both permanent and seasonal. They are tractor drivers, drivers, harvest workers, yard workers, field assistants, in addition to the administrative sector.

We pride ourselves on strictly complying with all labor obligations and having a very low employee turnover, including many who have been with us since the beginning.
